Analyzing the Plan

The first step in our consulting process is a comprehensive review of the plan, including but not limited to:

  • the composition of the plan liability among the various investment options
  • a review of the historical plan activity—contributions, distributions, investment performance
  • an evaluation of the participation/utilization metrics (participation rates, average deferral percentages, etc.) as compared to industry benchmarks
  • a review of the current plan design (deferral sources/limits, company contributions, distribution options), benchmarked against best practices and peers
  • an analysis of the participant investment options
  • an evaluation of the current recordkeeping services and expenses

We then make recommendations to improve the plan and optimize outcomes for both the plan sponsor and plan participants, and implement these solutions.
