CapAcuity, a leading executive benefits consulting, investment advisory and asset management firm, announced that it has appointed Thomas Cook as Senior Consultant and Hemant Srivastava as Chief Technology Officer.

Mr. Cook will provide consulting and analytical support for CapAcuity clients and intermediary partners. “Tom has deep and varied experience in the design, funding, investments, and tax treatment of executive benefit plans,” CapAcuity CEO Peter Cahall said. “His experience in these areas will be a great asset to our core service of addressing the major trends which are materially affecting the sponsors and participants of these plans—including significant tax, regulatory, investment and pricing changes.”

Most recently, Mr. Cook was a financial consultant with Fulcrum Partners, where he consulted on non-qualified plans for large private and public companies. Prior to Fulcrum, he held senior financial analyst and senior consultant positions with Newport Group, providing executive benefit plan solutions to plan sponsors and making recommendations about plan financing to company boards and committees. He has also been a private client portfolio consultant with Schwab, and a financial analyst with Bank of America.

Mr. Cook earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Davidson College in North Carolina, and his master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Indiana University. He holds a CFA certification, as well as Series 6, 7, 63, and 66 registrations.

Mr. Srivastava will be responsible for all IT strategy, operations, infrastructure, governance and data security across the company. “We are excited to welcome Hemant to our team,” said Peter Cahall. “His leadership will be critical as we continue to invest in our client reporting platform and enhance our information technology infrastructure.”

Prior to joining CapAcuity, Mr. Srivastava headed an independent consulting firm which provided enterprise-wide strategy, financial, and information technology consulting services to a wide range of large public and private companies. Previously, he was chief information officer at Hooper Holmes, Inc., a national health risk assessment provider. Prior to Hooper Holmes, he was a senior IT and management consultant specializing in the financial services sector for a boutique consulting firm in New Jersey.

Mr. Srivastava received his bachelor’s degree from Brock University and his master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University.
